Frequently Asked Questions and Help

What is Online Grand Rounds?

Online Grand Rounds is the live, interactive broadcast of Grand Rounds held at UNT Health Science Center. It is broadcast live most Wednesday’s from 12:00-1:00 PM, CST, unless otherwise noted.

How much does it cost to participate?

There is currently no charge to participate or earn credit for online Grand Rounds.

How early can I register for online Grand Rounds?

Beginning September 1, 2012 you may register for an upcoming online presentation as soon as it is posted.  You'll receive viewing and additional instructions via e-mail.

I registered too early and closed the window and now it tells me I’ve already registered. Can I participate?

Yes. This is a security feature built into the online system. If this happens, please open the e-mail you received with viewing instructions and links.

Do I earn CME credit for Grand Rounds?

CME credit is offered for Online Grand Rounds for users who register, take the pretest, watch the entire presentation and complete the posttest and evaluation. A certificate is immediately available.

AOA Guideline for CME on the Internet: Osteopathic physicians may earn up to 30% of their Category 1-A requirement from interactive Internet CME (i.e., up to 9 hours of Category 1-A CME for members with a requirement of 30 hours of Category 1-A credit). Category 1-A interactive Internet CME credit earned in excess of 9 hours will be applied to the Category 1-B and Category 2-A or category 2-B CME requirements.

Can I watch the presentation again or without CME credit?

Yes. The presentation will be available in a few weeks in the Grand Rounds On-Demand area.  If you just want to watch the presentation without credit, please click here. Credit can only be earned ONCE per topic per year.

I got a message saying I'lI needed to install the Citix client

That's OK. We use a service called GoToWebinar to broadcast Grand Rounds. A browser plug-in is required to view the presentation on your computer. The plug in is safe, free and only takes a few seconds to install.  Please follow the on-screen prompts when asked to install this plug-in.

Can I watch on a iPhone, iPad or Android device?

Yes! GoToWebinar/GoToMeeting has apps available for each device.

Once installed, you the link will activate your mobile app. You'll still need to register and log-in to take the pretest, posttest and evaluation, all of which can be completed on your smartphone's browser. Please note that PACE does not offer tech support for these apps.

Who do I call for more help?

Very limited support is available for this free service.  If you need assistance, please call 817-735-2539.

A note on security, firewalls and connection speed:

Some organizations have firewalls in place preventing the streaming of video.  If this is the case, you will not be able to participate in Grand Rounds.

Want to make sure your browser is ready to join? Click HERE to join a test session.

If a session is initiated and you can view the “Successfully Connected!” message shown below then you have successfully joined the test session. You should be able to join any GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar or GoToTraining session from this computer. Simply close the Waiting for Organizer – GoToMeeting window to exit the test session.

If you’re unable to join the meeting, you may not have all the necessary software. Try checking Common Issues When Joining a GoToMeeting on a PC, Common Issues When Joining a GoToMeeting on a Mac or the GoToMeeting System Requirements for more information.

If your hospital or facility has a firewall in place, your connection may be blocked. If you think this is an issue, your tech support department may use the connection wizard to troubleshoot any issues.

It is highly recommended that dial-up Internet service not be used to participate in Grand Rounds. A broadband (DSL, cable, etc.) internet connection encouraged.
