Cowtown Marathon breaks record
With the big day still a week away, the Cowtown has broken its participation record. More than 14,000 people have signed up for one of the races. This year, the Health Science Center is the title sponsor of the event, and we want as many faculty, staff and students as possible to be involved. There are still opportunities to volunteer, attend the Health Fair or the Health and Fitness Expo, or run one of the races.

Being energy smart can help cut operating costs
Facilities Management is leading the charge to reduce energy consumption on campus. Energy conservation has a direct impact on the Health Science Center’s operating budget and can help us prepare for the possibility of a reduction in the state budget as requested by Lt. Governor David Dewhurst two weeks ago. It also helps the environment. Everyone can help significantly reduce the Health Science Center’s utility costs by taking a few simple steps to save electricity.
