Those employees who attended the Aug. 1 President’s Cabinet donor reception show off the engraved mementoes they received from President Scott Ransom.

Employee donors to Fund for Excellence recognized

President Scott Ransom hosted a reception in the Rare Book Room of the Lewis Library Aug. 1 to thank faculty and staff whose donations last year to the UNT Health Science Center Fund for Excellence qualified them for membership in the President’s Cabinet, an annual giving club in the UNTHSC Foundation.

Any donor – internal or external – who makes an annual pledge of $1,000 or more to the Fund for Excellence qualifies for membership in the President’s Cabinet giving club.

The Fund for Excellence supports institutional priorities, awareness-building efforts, new research initiatives, student projects, faculty recruitment, alumni programs, campus improvements and many other activities that have limited or no state funding.

“Last year a record number of employees made donations to the Fund for Excellence, and every personal gift, regardless of amount, was deeply appreciated,” President Ransom said. “This fund will help us be world-class in everything we do.”
