Continuing Education Modules

These free, one-hour modules provide training on geriatric topics and evidence-based tools to advance health professions teamwork in the care of older adults. Topics include fall risk education, elder abuse, annual wellness visits, and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Texas Department of Health and Human Services Alzheimer’s Disease Program offers CME and quick courses related to screening, diagnosis, care coordination and referrals for primary care providers and affiliated health care professionals.

Nursing Home Workforce Training

HSC Center for Older Adults is committed to educating the professionals entrusted with the care of adults 65 years and older, offering programs for the nursing home and long term care workforce, from administrators to certified nurse assistants and other hands-on health workers.

Project ECHO

Project ECHO is a lifelong learning and guided practice model that both revolutionizes medical education and exponentially increases workforce capacity to provide best-practice specialty care and reduce health disparities. The heart of the ECHO modelâ„¢ is its hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. In this way, primary care doctors, nurses, and other clinicians learn to provide excellent specialty care to patients in their own communities.

ICARE

Infection Control Advocate and Resident Education (ICARE) provides online training curricula for nursing home residents, staff, family members, and advocates to promote best practice strategies for infection control while respecting resident rights.
