Pursue the Master of Public Health degree as an on-campus or online student. UNTHSC School of Public Health offers the Master of Public Health degree as both an on-campus or online program.  The MPH areas of concentration include:

• Epidemiology
• Biostatistics and Data Science
• Maternal & Child Health
• Public Health Leadership (offered in both cohort and online delivery)

The MPH cohort program (On Campus) is a 2-year, full-time, cohort style program

The MPH Online program in Public Health Leadership is a 100% online program. With fall and spring start dates, applicants may qualify for either the 48 or 42 semester credit hour option. We offer both part-time and full-time online options. Part-time students will typically take two courses in the fall and spring and one course in the summer. Full-time students may choose to take additional courses based on their needs. Our online programs can be completed in 5 semesters or up to 6 years. Most students complete the program in 5 semesters-3 years.

The MPH-PHL Online 48-hour option is best for recent graduates. The MPH-PHL Online 42-hour option is designed for those with at least 3 years of work experience in public health or medical professions or applicants that already hold an advanced degree or are enrolled in a dual graduate program.

Become a leader who affects meaningful change to impact our health systems and communities. Pursue the Master of Health Administration (MHA) as an on-campus or online student.. UNTHSC School of Public Health offers the MHA degree as both an on-campus or online program.

The MHA Online program is a 100% online program. With Fall and Spring starts, this program is designed for working professionals. Applicants for the online MHA program must have at least two years of health-related work experience in either a clinical or a management position and currently employed full-time in healthcare.  We offer both part-time and full-time online options. Part-time students will typically take two courses in the fall and spring and one course in the summer. Full-time students may choose to take additional courses based on their needs. Pursue the Master of Science in Public Health Sciences here at the UNTHSC School of Public Health and select from two areas of concentrations including, Health Behavior Research or Epidemiology. Scholarly research has the potential to transform the field of public health, but it requires principal investigators with highly developed skill sets to bring it to realization. The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health Sciences prepares students to become research-focused, faculty members in schools and colleges of public health. Students will select from one of two areas of concentration to focus on during their studies as a PhD student here at the UNTHSC School of Public Health. Students will select either Epidemiology or Health Behavior Research as their area of concentration.

The College of Public Health offers competitive multi-year funding packages to doctoral students admitted to this highly selective program. This package includes:

• Two fully funded years including a living stipend currently valued at $35,000 annually, tuition & fees, and health insurance.
• In the third and fourth years, students are eligible for funding through multiple sources.

Advance your knowledge in public health through our Graduate Certificate program here at the UNTHSC School of Public Health. The Graduate Certificate consists of 15-credit hours. Upon completion of the certificate, students earning a grade of B or better in each course may apply all hours to their MPH degree. Learn more by visiting our Graduate Certificate Page.

The School of Public Health has partnered with other colleges on the HSC campus to allow student enrolled in the DO, PA, or PharmD programs to simultaneously also work towards a Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, or PhD degree. Texas Residency is established at the time of admission to UNT Health Science Center. We encourage you to review the details for the residency status requirements posted by the Registrar’s Office.

All applicants are automatically reviewed for scholarships through the College of Public Health upon admittance. Students are also eligible to apply for scholarships through the General Scholarship Application through the Office of Financial Aid.
