Compost drop-off starting in July

Composting is one of the best ways to live more sustainably since it diverts material from the landfill and contributes to healthier soil. In July, HSC Sustainability will initiate a compost drop-off for both home and campus compost for our students and employees. The bin will be located outside at the MET dumpster location, and accept all food scraps (meats, bones, eggs, dairy products, grains, etc.), compostable products (items marked “compostable”), and food-soiled fiber products (coffee filters, grounds, napkins, etc.). While this is a FREE service, you must opt-in to get access to the bin. If you are interested or have questions, email sustainability@unthsc.edu. Furthermore, we have 5-gallon collection bins with a lid for the first 40 people to sign up (generously donated by the City of Fort Worth). Please note, this is not intended to collect composting from events larger than 15 people. For event composting, please contact us.
