HSC at Fort Worth

Past, Present and Future of Health Care Ethics at UNTHSC

A Conversation on Ethics of Whole Health Care

What we will be exploring:

  • What expertise is already present at HSC in the area of health care ethics among faculty, staff and (graduate) students, as well as partners in the HSC community?
  • What educational offerings are already part of the different curricula at HSC and what instructional modalities have proven to be particularly effective at increasing the ethics competencies of our graduates?
  • What is the experience of our students and graduates about their competency development in the area of health care ethics?
  • What resources are available to assist clinicians with the ethical challenges they face while care for patients? What resources are there for community-based health care providers?
  • What grants, publications, research projects and other scholarly endeavors about or related to ethics topics have been completed by HSC faculty members? What endeavors are currently ongoing or are being developed?
  • Are the aforementioned educational, clinical and scholarly activities maximally capitalizing on the professional and disciplinary diversity at HSC? What are the needs and opportunities for expanding interprofessional cooperation?
