Andy Axsom talks about his marathon training on WFAA and KLIF

Andy Axsom, Director – Student Development, and Heinz Schwarzkopf, TCOM ’16, are training to run the Dallas Marathon this Sunday. WFAA Channel 8 and KLIF recently reported on their training and Axsom’s journey from weighing 385 in 2010 to being fit enough to run 26.2 miles.

At UNTHSC, Axsom helps students succeed through new student orientation, career services, international student services, student governments and organizations…. and serves as a healthy example.

Schwarzkopf, a former collegiate athlete who works part-time as boot camp instructor and a personal trainer at the UNTHSC gym, has been coaching Axsom since Aug. 20, 2012, for the marathon.
