The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s Office of Marketing and Communications received top honors at the recent PRSA Worthy Awards, winning awards for both video production and print communication.
The awards, presented Nov. 8 at the annual Worthy Awards Gala by the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, celebrate the best of the Fort Worth area’s public relations and strategic communications initiatives.
UNTHSC earned a Worthy Award for its well-crafted Whole Health Passport, an informational and interactive booklet designed to promote the university’s Whole Health initiative. Created with accessibility in mind for patients attending HSC’s 2023 Remote Area Medical, or RAM®, clinic, the passport introduces a holistic approach to health, addressing not only physical symptoms but also mental, environmental, financial, spiritual, community and self-care aspects.
The university also received an Award of Achievement for its innovative and engaging New Hire Orientation Video. This video, which introduces new employees to the organization’s culture, values and operational framework, has become an essential tool in the onboarding process. The video was created to inspire excitement and instill a strong sense of purpose among new hires by showcasing UNTHSC’s mission, history and current initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by PRSA and are incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to creating materials that reflect our commitment to communications excellence,” said Andy North, vice president of Marketing and Communications at UNTHSC. “These awards highlight the impact of our efforts to engage and empower our staff to live the mission and values of UNTHSC.”
Those in Marketing & Communications who worked on the projects were North; Paula Cobler, associate vice president of Marketing and Communications; Alexandria Ortiz, associate director of marketing; Libby Maness, associate director of communications; Noah Whitmore, videographer; Guillermo Gomez, graphic designer; Eric Griffey, academic communications director for HSC’s College of Health Professions; and Carlisle Ross, former graphic designer.
