Fall 2023: The AI Revolution in Medicine: GPT-4 And Beyond

The Osteopathic Research Center established the TCOM Contemporary Issues in Medicine Book Club in 2023 to facilitate discussion of emerging trends in medicine. The Book Club is led by Dr. John Licciardone, Regents Professor. Since its inception, it has covered a variety of topics as listed below.
How can artificial intelligence impact the practice of medicine in the future? Peter Lee, PhD, Carey Goldberg, and Isaac Kohane, MD, PhD attempted to answer this question. Their book presented the potential advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence in medicine, including how it may impact medical students and residents as they plan for careers in various medical specialties.
